About Sonia Kumar-Seguin M.A, RYT
Sonia holds a Master’s in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier. Sonia has a particular interest in bold, innovative, e-health approaches that will drive systemic change in the eating disorder landscape. As a mixed person of colour, Sonia believes in the importance of exploring ways in which eating disorder treatment and support can become more accessible and equitable. Sonia suffered from an eating disorder during her late teens and early 20s. Through a combination of skills, yoga, and treatment, she was able to achieve recovery. On a national level, she advocates for the patient voice and eating disorders as a Canadian Medical Association Patient Voice Committee member. She brings her passion and experiences of recovery to all of her work.
About Body Brave
Body Brave is a national charitable organization that offers innovative, accessible treatment and support for people 18+ struggling with body image issues, disordered eating and eating disorders. Body Brave also works to create a bold national recovery-focused, inclusive community, committed to body liberation as well as raising awareness and reducing stigma around disordered eating and/or eating disorders.
