Imagine yourself in the midst of your dedicated yoga practice in your favourite studio: you’re moving slowly, you’re breathing mindfully, and your attention is focused. Now imagine that when you pause to take in your surroundings, rather than encountering four walls when you look around, instead you see tall pine trees shading you from a hot, summer sun. You see birds soaring overhead and watch the current of the sparkling Muskoka River flowing by. Next to you are many like-minded souls moving in unison to the gentle murmurings of your favorite yoga teacher in a magnificent outdoor space. It feels natural. It feels like home. This is the Muskoka Yoga Festival.
This is the Muskoka Yoga Festival...
On July 8 & 9, 2017, Annie Williams Park in Bracebridge, Muskoka will set the stage for hundreds of inspired yoga practitioners, music lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts to commune in one incredible movement – in one spectacular place. An event whose time has come, this rejuvenating weekend is a must for city folks looking for a ‘Nature break’, and for locals and cottagers alike, as we gather in one of the most stunning destinations in Ontario.
The Muskoka Yoga Festival features two days of physical and meditative yoga practices suitable for all levels of experience. With teachers like Lisa Messina, Ann Green, Andre Talbot, Darren Austin Hall and Kimberly McBean, you’ll be expertly guided through an array of workshops, from running clinics and acro-yoga to yoga nidra and intention-setting meditations. There are over 40 workshops to build your schedule on Saturday and Sunday in the park, as well as additional off-site experiences with Greater Opportunities Paddling Excursions and the Muskoka Conservancy, designed to get you onto Lake Muskoka to experience the pristine waters here.
...dance, sing and celebrate during our headlining concert with Toronto singer-songwriter Chris Assaad and 11-piece Reggae band from Toronto, Feeling the One Drop!
Throughout both days you can explore the unique vendor market offering delicious food and beverages from morning to night, and environmentally-conscious products made locally in Ontario. The market will be open both days of the event, with monetary donations to the Muskoka Conservancy welcomed. You can also relax by grabbing a craft beer and listening to exceptional independent musicians perform live. You’ll also have the chance to dance, sing and celebrate during our headlining concert with Toronto singer-songwriter Chris Assaad and 11-piece Reggae band from Toronto, Feeling the One Drop, from 6pm to 9pm at our main stage.
A premier tourism destination in Canada, Muskoka has plenty of exceptional accommodations to consider staying at. Ranging from quaint bed and breakfasts along the calm Muskoka River to gorgeous lake views at classic resorts, you’ll find yourself rested and content when you arrive to start the day. There are also camping and cabin options within walking distance to Muskoka Yoga Festival at the nearby Santa’s Whispering Pines Campground (across from world-famous Santa’s Village).
